Women safety has always been one of the top priorities of any law-enforcing agency. Law enforcement agencies all over the world are taking problem of offence against women very seriously as offence against women is universal. Be it within the confines of home or in the public sphere, offence against women has been observed, documented and tolerated by societies all across the globe. Kolkata Police with a view to eradicate and minimize the possibility of commencing offence against women has conceived a unique programme for the women of any age styled as ‘’TEJASHWINI’’. The basic objective of this project is to build confidence amongst the women by means of imparting a crash course of self defence training so that women could be made capable of defending themselves and countered any sort of ordeal. A specially designed 10(Ten) days course for 02 (Two) hours for women of the city in order to train them rudimentary level of Un-Armed-Combat techniques to deal with any awkward situation effectively. a) On International Women’s Day (08.03.22), opening ceremony of 6th edition of Tejashwini was held at PAC Tent Ground. b) From 11.03.22 to 22.03.22 Tejashwini trainings were conducted at 09 (Nine) places of the city for consecutive 05 days. c) From 09.09.22 to 18.09.22 7th edition of Tejashwini conducted at Subhash Sarovar for 10 (Ten) consecutive days.
